Director Maria Salzmann holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Delaware with a Special Education subspecialty. Her parents, Jim and Susan Mobile, are classically trained educators with over two decades of formal classroom teaching experience each, and they are in the building every single day. At 40 children, every educator knows every child’s name, temperament, developmental stage, and what they were working on last week. That level of knowledge is not possible at 80 spots or 150. It is the foundation of everything Discovery delivers.

Every child at Discovery is assessed seasonally against the Pennsylvania Early Learning Standards across eight developmental domains. When a child is ready to advance, the next stage’s challenges are introduced immediately. The goal is not to meet milestones. It is to exceed them, and families receive specific, written evidence of that progress at monthly conferences.

Discovery Day Care serves children from 6 weeks through 12 years. Every room is led by a formally trained educator. Every age group has documented milestones, individualized attention, and stretch goals built in from day one.
6 Weeks to 12 Months
Infant Care
The infant room is where secure attachment is built, and where everything that follows depends on. Our educators form consistent, documented relationships with each baby, tracking development across eight domains from the very first day.
1 to 3 Years
Toddler Care
Young toddlers are natural explorers. Our structured, language-rich environment channels that energy into purposeful learning, building early communication, foundational number sense, and the social skills that make the preschool years more productive.
3 to 6 Years
Preschool and Pre-K
This is where kindergarten readiness becomes a documented outcome, not a hope. Phonological awareness, mathematical thinking, executive function, and social-emotional development are tracked, reported, and actively developed in every session.
Kindergarten to 5th Grade
Before and After School Care
After-school care that takes the whole child seriously. Structured homework support, active purposeful activities, and consistent adult relationships from pickup through close of day. Discovery’s own bus currently serves Grandview, Morrisville Intermediate, and Makefield Elementary.

When Children Arrive at Discovery, They Run to Her.
Maria Salzmann is the Director of Discovery Day Care and the primary contact for every enrolled and prospective family. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Delaware with a Special Education subspecialty and brings formal classroom teaching experience alongside years of hands-on childcare expertise. She chose this work because she believes every child deserves a space where they feel safe, seen, and genuinely challenged to grow. That is not a tagline. It is what families witness every morning when they drop their child off.

Discovery’s curriculum is aligned to the Pennsylvania Early Learning Standards, administered by the Pennsylvania Office of Child Development and Early Learning. Every child is assessed seasonally and reviewed with their family at monthly conferences across eight developmental domains:
Discovery is actively building toward Pennsylvania’s highest Keystone STARS quality designation, because meeting state quality standards is a floor, not a ceiling.

What ages does Discovery Cares serve?
Discovery Day Care serves children from 6 weeks through 12 years, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, at 74 North Pennsylvania Avenue in Morrisville, PA.
Does Discovery Cares accept ELRC subsidized childcare?
Yes. Discovery accepts ELRC subsidized childcare through Bucks County ELRC Region 23. Every enrolled child receives the same educators, the same curriculum, and the same individualized attention regardless of how tuition is paid.
Why does Discovery only enroll 40 children?

If Discovery is the right fit, Maria will walk you through the enrollment process. ELRC subsidized childcare through Bucks County Region 23 is accepted, and every family is treated identically regardless of payment type.
